Shadowrun - Mirror's Edge

YET Again

Mirror, Derek S. Taylor, “Chips”, Curly, Patch

The team is invited to a party in the Puyallup Barrens. After mingling for some time, they are met by their Johnson – an elf apparently named Lee.

He wants the team to deck into the Young Elven Technologists systems from inside the building, and then access another company from within the same building. All paths must lead back to the YET.

The team finished the party with much to think about, and planning to get done….

Bavarian Rhapsody

Mirror, Derek S. Taylor, “Chips”, Curly, Patch

The team was hired to travel to Bavaria and steal an ancient book, as well as drop off a medical case.

Eye Witness

Mirror, Curly, Derek S. Taylor, “Chips”, Patch

A meeting is arranged between the team and Alpha Blue – Erin Scott. A shadowrunner herself, Erin wanted to hire the team to investigate the reasons for her brother’s assassination the night before. She believed that Multitech had arranged for her brother’s death due to a discovery he had made in regard to an optical chip in development. Their cleanup team was already in operation and time would be of the essence….

After some negotiation, a price of 15,000¥ each was agreed upon. She handed over all the information she had in regards to the chip and asked the team to locate the rest of the blueprints. She hopes that with this information she would be able to avenge her brother’s death and hurt Multitech.

The team split up, with Mirror and Patch heading out to the brother Neil’s office. Curly and Chips went to Vanian’s, the fence who asked Neil to investigate the blueprint of the chip in the first place.

Mirror and Patch found several personal items to return to Erin, as well as some data and clues about the work Neil was doing. They also found a bomb in the office, which Mirror was able to disarm. Once it was safe, he decided to keep the explosives.

Curly and Chips found a couple of dead bodies at Vanian’s, and enough clues to lead them to believe that they were Yakuza – and associated with Vanian. They were also able to locate Vanian’s home address. On the way out, however, they encountered a merc named Clean Steve. He had a team of hitters with him, but he seemed more interested in talking to Curly and Chips. He seemed particularly interested in who hired them and what they had found. They didn’t give him any information, which seemed to frustrate him. He made nothing of it, however, and left them a card so that they could contact him through the owner of Club Nosferatu, Caine.

The team met up again afterwards and shared their information. There was a brief discussion of how to proceed and they all agreed that they next had to go to Vanian’s home.

Other clues:
-chip designer was Dutch Donovan
-murder was committed at the corner of Leopold and Loeb

Kleaning out the Krew

Cherry, Eric Olm, Glitch, Kitten

Approached by one of their fixers, Kitten, Eric Olm and Glitch are offered a job with very few details. Step one, show up at the meet and get info as to what is being asked of them. The good news, there’s backup – another runner has also been hired for the job. Someone that Kitten already knows.

Heading to the meetup spot, they meet Cherry waiting on the corner. After brief (re)introductions, the team heads inside to meet the Johnson and get the details of the job.

The job itself seems simple. 30,000 each for a little wetwork. A gang called the Kleaning Krew in the Redmond Barrens. Probably about 16 members, they have been expansive and more violent than usual of late. Cherry talks up the Johnson another 800 for the job. But they only have three days to get the job done.

The team starts with astral recon – Glitch and Cherry go to the site, an old warehouse once used for refrigerated storage. There they see a fairly typical set of gangers, until they encounter the new boss – Mr. Diamond. He is an astrally active troll who seems not at all intimidated by them. In fact, he has a few questions as to who sent them. After a brief exchange, the encounter ends with the promise that Mr. Diamond will not be as cordial if he sees them in realspace.

Now having an idea what the warehouse layout is, as well as the numbers they’d be facing, the team prepared to hit them head-on. Starting with spellcasting and summons, they pick up the new Diabolus from their last run and drive into the Barrens. Glitch sets his earth elemental on guard duty at the car and the four of them – or three of them and Cherry as a big cat – head to the warehouse.

Subtlety thrown to the wind, Kitten kicks the door open and a gunfight ensues almost immediately. The first four (surprisingly well-armed) gangers are taken out fairly expeditiously. A brief astral foray into the next room warns of a coming ambush, so the team prepares to ambush the ambushers….

Lights out for the APN

Mirror, Curly, Derek S. Taylor, “Chips”, Patch

Curly is approached by a fixer named Charlie to handle a wetwork job. At the meet, she describes the Association Para-Nobilis, an extremist policlub that has, of late, taken to murdering elves who do not live up to their “back-to-nature” image of elven perfection. The targets of the wetwork – the six leaders of the APN.

Derek S. Taylor, “Chips”, Patch, and Mirror were all too happy to oblige after hearing the details. The pay of 40000¥ for one night of work was just the icing on the cake.

After discovering that the APN building in the shadow of the Renraku arcology was a former city building, Curly was able to talk his way into the Public Works Archive Hall (in a former underground nuclear shelter). There he may Harriet Taylor. She was only too happy to help him find the original plans for the building as well as providing an introduction to her daughter, Kerry Taylor. Meanwhile, Mirror and Chips were able to track down a rival group to the APN, the Young Elven Technologists. As it happens, contact with the YET or Kerry were not neccessary.

After a long night of alchemical preparation, the team was ready for their assault. The team first encountered Deathedge, the cybered-up enforcer of the APN. He caught the team unaware but was taken out quickly on his own.

Next, Fierelle the Red (“The Red Woman”). She was holed up in her bedroom and had already lost faith in the APN. After a brief conversation, she surrendered her left ear-tip for the runners’ bonus and fled the scene along with a young homeless girl she had befriended.

From there, the team went upstairs and found (along with a few guards on the way) the leader of the APN – Xeric the Mad. He lived up to his name and was clearly beyond reason. They managed to halt hostilities long enough to live up to their obligation and deliver a sealed envelope to him. Everyone was surprised to discover the title page of Mankind Revealed, the most recent work of Ehran the Scribe. The elven scholar’s work was the target of a previous run and this was their first real confirmation that this job was connected. In the end, Xeric died to his own confidence as he resumed hostilities and was unable to face the team on his own.

Allair was found asleep in his room, claiming to be a powerful necromancer. He was simply the victim of BTLs and was knocked unconscious by dumpshock when his BTL was forcibly removed.

The last two leaders of the APN were found in the basement after a lengthier battle with APN guards. The two burst from a room adjoining the archery range in the basement. Thiran the scarred weapons master rushed out wielding a sword while Erendahl was armed with a bow. Thiran was executed in a single shot from Chips before he did more than step into the room. Erendahl managed to badly injure Chips and was promptly killed by a then-berserk Patch using a powerful lightning bolt.

The team extracted before Renraku Red Samurai (or other security) could respond and met up with Charlie once again. The fixer was completely satisfied and paid in full.

Bottled Demon - Talismonger Body Guards Job
Tuesday last minute 3am job

Eric Olm, Ghost, Glitch, Kitten

Mett the Talismonger (Topal) at 3am on Wednesday morning for a 5000¥ (each) body guard Job. He claims to dislike traveling alone so he wants to hire us. He seems to be trading an Obelisk that to our guess is rather expensive or rare to have such a price for body guarding. The obelisk was previously in the possession of his buddy (Templeman), sadly recently deceased.

Topal is apart of the Children of Sophocles. A social hobbyist magical group.

We started the job at 3am sharp and were confronted by Gangers that we quickly dispatched.
